KEEN USA received an $11,000 grant from the Daniels Fund in support of our 2008 affiliate expansion. The Daniels Fund operates the Daniels Fund Scholarship Program and the Daniels Fund Grants Program. The Fund was established in 1997 by Bill Daniels, a pioneer in cable television know for his kindness and generosity to those in need. KEEN was selected for inclusion in the 2005 Catalogue for Philanthropy: Greater Washington as one of the small charities "making a difference" in the DC area. More... KEEN was also recognized by the Federal Communications Bar Association Foundation. In 2005 they named KEEN Greater DC the sole beneficiary of the procedes of their annual silent auction - over $76,000 - to bring KEEN programs into the underserved area of Southeast DC. CURE AUTISM NOW, for the second consecutive year, has donated 10% of the registration proceeds from its July 4th 5K in Potomac, MD to KEEN Greater DC. In celebration of its 40th anniversary, Washingtonian Magazine name KEEN Greater DC as one of the "40 organizations [that] strengthen the bodies and spirits of young Washingtonians."
