Dr. Spierer has his doctoral degree in Applied Physiology from the Department of Biobehavioral Studies at Teachers College, Columbia University.


He is the co-founder of Wellness Roundtable, LLC, a New York based telehealth company focused on prevention, wellness, and nutrition, which he co-found in 2014. His strong academic background in areas of exercise and clinical health allows him to stay up to date with the latest technologies and his research interests and entrepreneurial work have given him a keen sense how wellness can be properly utilized to impact large populations. Dr. Spierer also launched Tele-Therapy Technologies International, LLC (T3i) with two partners in 2019. T3i, is devoted to using modern tele-health technology to bring United States Physical Therapy Expertise to patients in China.


Previously Dr. Spierer worked as a clinical exercise scientist in the circulatory physiology laboratory at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center monitoring and testing patients with cardiovascular disease and pulmonary disease. After receiving his doctorate in 2007 he accepted a position of Assistant Professor at Long Island University Brooklyn. After several years of teaching, peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and service he was awarded the title of Director of Exercise Science and achieved tenure at the level of Associate Professor in 2013. Dr. Spierer has presented and published work in the areas of cardiovascular conditioning, athletic response time, activity trackers, Parkinson's disease, and swearing and exercise. Dr. Spierer has been involved in academia for over 15 years and has taught courses and labs in clinical physiology, exercise physiology, instrumentation, and research methods. He also developed a variety of undergraduate and graduate clinical curriculum and was instrumental in forging affiliations and relationships with various facilities and organizations, creating internships and clinical rotations for his students. He continues to teach online courses in the use of technology in health and disease and research methodology at Long Island University Brooklyn.


Dr. Spierer now resides in Arizona, and served as President of KEEN Phoenix.
